Memorize what you

want to say

If you can't memorize your own content that sends a message to the audience (and not a good one in case you were wondering).

If you are only comfortable speaking if you are reading your notes then you should just type it up and send it out in an email or on hard copy. It's a win-win. Both you and the audience escapes and awkward and seemingly endless presentation.
